Manchester City have a claimed a comfortable 3-0 victory over Bayern Munich on Tuesday at the Etihad Stadium in the first-leg clash of the UEFA Champions League Quarter-final.
Goals delivered by Rodri, Bernardo Silva and
in-form Erling Halaand handled the Pep Guordiala’s side a resounding win to strengthen their chances towards qualifying to the semi-final stage in quest for the Champions league showpiece.
The premier league championship took the lead through a clinical finish from Spanish midfielder Rodri at the 27th minute.
Munich attempted to level as they dominated the game in the beginning of second half.
However, their effort proved abortive as City extended their lead to relief pressure in the 70th minutes before Erling Haaland sealed the 3-0 victory in the 76th minutes.
Erling Haaland has now recorded 34 goals in 26 matches being the fastest and youngest player to set the record in UCL competition at 22 years.
Meanwhile, Baryen Munich will be hoping to bounce back on the 19th of April in the return leg at Allianz Arena.
Somewhere, goals scored by Nicolo Barella and Romelu Lukaku handled Inter Milan a victory over Portuguese side, Benfica at Estádio do Sport Lisboa Benfica in the first-leg encounter of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final.
