The Sport Department, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto has invited all students who are interested in football for a screening exercise at the school stadium.
This was contained in a circular released on Saturday, 20th May and signed by the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee for Students’ Union, Mohammed Shamshudeen and the Sports Director, Bashir Abdulrahman.
According to the circular, the screening is aimed at spotlighting students who have extraordinary football skills to strengthen the school team for competitions.
The screening is scheduled to be held on Monday, 22th May 2023 at the university football field by 3:00pm.
“The purpose of this screening exercise is to identify talented individuals who possess the necessary skills, passion and dedication to represent our university in various intercollegiate football competitions,” the circular reads in part.
It also added that the eligible candidate to show up at the screening must be a student of 100-level to 200-level.
“The screening exercise is strictly open to all students in 100 level and 200 level of study. No prior experience is required, but a genuine interest in football and a willingness to commit to the team are essential.”
“We encourage all interested students to avail themselves of this opportunity to showcase their football skills and join the university football team. The team not only provides a platform for sporting excellence but also fosters teamwork,discipline and personal development,” it added.
