Excitement As UDUS Students Rejoice Over Peaceful Rainfall

Muheeb Mashood reports

At early day of June, a non violent rainfall that lasted for less than an hour in UDUS had met Abdullahi Ashiat at the law faculty mosque.

The 200- level Education Biology students who went to cast her eyes over her books, disclosed to the News Digest Press that she would have been in her hostel, if she knew it would rain.

“Today will be the first time that rain has met me outside my hostel. Regardless, I can feel the breeze of the rain and I am delighted about it, especially because it will be more helpful in reducing this unpleasant heat,” she said joyously.

“I can say God Answered my Prayer”-Olamilekan boasts

Olamilekan Mokonjuola, a student from the Department of Political Science who also loves reading at the faculty of law, bragged that it was his prayer that God answered.

Having expected rain to fall due to extreme scorching sun, too much heat among others, Olamilekan was overwhelmed with joy as his dream came true.

His words: ” I can say God answered my prayer because this kind of rain is what I have been anticipating. But the fact that rain fell doesn’t mean heat can not follow but the tendency of free breeze is close to certain so far the rain lasted longer than ever.”

He therefore added that this recent rainfall would make it the third time he has witnessed rainfall on UDS campus. Nothing that the first rainfall he experienced began with a wind storm.

For Abdulrasaq Kamaldeen, a 200L student from faculty of Law, he didn’t believe it would rain because that was not his first time experiencing a wind storm without rain.

“To my thought, l can’t imagine this will result in rain but Alhamdulillah for this beautiful rain,” he thanked God.

Speaking with The News Digest Press, Durojaye Bashirat, a 200- level student from the Department of Mass Communications and lover of basketball, expressed her joy over the peaceful rain.

“It is delightful to experience the rain after the heat. I was training inside our basketball court when the dust storm started and some minutes after, it’s raining already,” she said.
