The National Association of Kwara State Law Students,Usman Danfodio University,Sokoto chapter, held its orientation for freshers on Friday, 1st June.
The orientation which was held at LC6 of the faculty of law, kicked off at 2:30 pm and was anchored by Olanrewaju Umar Faruq
Dr K.G Muhammad, the Grand patron of NAKLAS advised and laid emphasis on the importance of the students handbook.
In his words, he said: “ The student’s handbook will guide students to know the rules and regulations of the Faculty of Law.”
He continued that a student who wants to be tagged as a good ambassador of his state must not be involved in examination malpractice.
“Don’t be a bad flag of your state. Our state, (Kwara state) has been a beneficiary state in the Usman Danfodio University,Sokoto. Work for your CGPA at the beginning of your academic level,”he said.
He therefore added that students shouldn’t take their Continuous Assessment with levity because it will determine their grades in examinations.
While rejoicing with the newly admitted law students from Kwara state, Mr Salman Sarah Abdulqudri, the NAKLASS president, stated the beneficial agenda for them, such as tutorial class,procedural class,mooting activities and the likes
Nurudeen,a 500 level student, held an agenda called the keynote speech while advising the students not to be carried away by the title Barrister or the Law.
“The title barrister or the law is a mere title if you don’t focus on your primary assignment. And don’t allow “Morocco” enjoyments mislead you.”
