The Chairman of Students’ Union Electoral Committee of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Muhammad Bashir Achida has broken silence over the inconclusiveness of the election result of the Welfare Director.
Recall that the Electoral Committee has on Thursday declared the result of the Welfare Director inconclusive, which has sparked different reactions from the students after the results of other offices have been announced.
Meanwhile, while speaking with the News Digest Press after the inauguration of the newly elected Students’ Union Executive on Friday, the Chairman of the committee, Muhammad Bashir Achida said the reason was not connected with the conduct of the Thursday elections.
He said the inconclusiveness has nothing to do with electoral malpractice or any kind of election misconduct.
The Chairman however stated that the inconclusiveness is directly related to contestants of the office_ Abdullahi zakari Yari, Hammed Yusuf Akintoye and Muhammad Nafiu.
“The reason has nothing to do with election malpractice or misconduct. Rather, it is connected to the contestants of the post,” the Chairman said.
“Right now, the issue is at the hands of the University Security Unit and the school
management.”
“We are waiting for a report from the security and the management in order for us to resolve the matter.”
Meanwhile, the Chairman did not disclose the actual issue that brought in the attention of the security and the school management.
However, he said if the matter is not fully resolved before Monday, all the three contestants would be summoned.
“We therefore urge the students to remain
calm as the matter would be duly resolved.”
You don’t announce inconclusive if it has nothing to do with the electoral process!.
If it has to do with the candidates then you disqualify them at the initial stage.
They were screened and good to go
Why bringing up issues at this stage?.
This process isn’t credible!!!!
Yusuf akinteye shouldn’t be rubbed off his vote.
He won and deserves to be sworn in.
