The Muslim Students Society Of Nigeria (MSSN), Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto chapter, under the leadership of Ameer Mustaqeem Bin Malik has held its Annual Marhaba program on Friday, 16th March.
The event which was a three day activity, took place at the ETF3 lecture hall, starting from 9:pm prompt to 12:am where many students graced and benefited from the program.
Marhaba week is an annual event aimed at addressing the newly admitted students to understand the nature of the University and the possible way of living an Islamic life. This year’s programme is tagged “Striking a Balance Between the Deen and Academics.
The event tagged “Marhaba program” started with an Inter faculty debate with 24 participants from twelve Different Faculties.
Debate 1: The Faculty of Chemical and life Science proposing, while Faculty of physical and computer science opposing on the topic “MAN-MADE GLOBAL WARMING: ADDRESSING THE REALITY”.
Debate 2: While on the second debate, the Faculty of management science were proposing, while Education and Extension services opposing on the topic: “CASHLESS POLICY HAS DONE MORE HARM THAN GOOD”.
Debate 3: And the third debate, the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic studies paired as the proposing side to College of health science as opposing side on the topic: “DEPREESION: WEAK IMAM OR A VALID MENTAL HEALTH”.
Debate 4: For the Faculty of Pharmaceutical science bragged as the proposing side while School of Medical lab/Allied Science oppose on the topic: “TRADITIONAL: EDUCATION VS ONLINE EDUCATION: WHICH IS BETTER FOR NIGERIA’S FUTURE”.
Debate 5: And the Faculty of Law (proposing) while Social Science (opposing) on the Topic: “ RELIGION VS ETHNICITY: THE TRUE DRIVER OF NIGERIAN POLITICS IN THE 2023 PRESIDENTAL ELECTION”. Where the proposing side not Present.
Debate 6: In the final day of the debate, the Faculty of Engineering and environmental Design locked horns as the proposing side, while Faculty of Agriculture oppose on the topic: “SHOULD NIGERIA INVEST MORE IN AGRICULTURE OR TECHNOLOGY TO DRIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT”.
