Olumuyiwa Adejobi, a Public Relations Officer for the Nigeria Police Force has on Friday, 23rd June disclosed that the popular Oyo-based skit maker, Abdullahi Maruf Adisa popularly known as Trinity guy will be charged to court on Monday for sexually abusing a small girl in his viral video clip.
Reacting to this, a netizen identified as Zpaulee, had taken his official handle to tweet, “You guys should release him and warn him not to try that again, it’s just a prank.”
However, Adejobi who is a PRO to the Nigeria Police Force responded to the tweet, saying numerous complaints have been lodged against the famous video creator, and groups like NGO and CLO are interested in the case.
Adejobi noted that ” there is no sentiment in law, like he always say; and others should be able to learn from Trinity’s actions and inactions”.
Recall that Oyo state Police Command has invited Trinity Guy over his slight video prank where he subjected a small girl to unlawful sexual harassment. The man during a prank conversation with the young girl forced her to describe his genitals which generated different reactions among the netizens.
The Oyo State Police Command genuinely appreciated the energy and effort invested by every creative mind in his/her craft and appealed strongly over the prankster offense on the sensibilities of others through violence, sexual abuse, and other extremities in the name of entertainment.
Similarly, the News Digest Press, UDUS published an article 4 months ago where Habeeb Olokooba exposed the nuisance nature of some pranksters. He criticized some video clips of ‘Iamtrinityguy’ where he severely subjected people to physical and emotional assault.
“It was nothing to write home about. ‘Iamtrinityguy’ and a skinny girl, in her late teens; or probably early twenties, the pranker, in the clip, flogged the lady and forced her to go back home and change her clothes.
“Online Pranksters are going beyond the intent of creating humor and thereby committing assault against the prankee(s). This havoc in most times causes NUISANCE to the public at large; known as public nuisance in law,” he wrote.
