Soliu Ridwanullahi, a newly admitted student of department of History and International Studies was very happy when he saw the circular released by the management that the matriculation ceremony would held on Wednesday. This has been the dream of Ridwan ever since his secondary school—to wear a matriculation gown.
According to the circular released by the school management, the matriculation will be held on Wednesday, 19th July, 2023 at the university Convocation Theatre.
A native of Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state who finished his secondary school in 2019, Ridwan has many friends who have gained admission to tertiary institutions before him.
“I love seeing my friends wearing and snapping with their matriculation gown, it always served as an inspiration for me. Glory be God, my day has finally come, I cannot wait to wear the gown,” he expressed.
Another fresher, Idris Haliru Sheudeen from department of Adult Education and Extension Services said matriculation has always been a special celebration to him, a new start and a reminder that he will soon be a bonafide student of the university.
“I felt grateful and excited to be matriculate as a student of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto,” he said.
Also, Abdulrahman Rihanat, a 100-level student of Faculty of Agriculture said since the day she has been admitted to this school, her parents are always curious about when she is going to be matriculate.
“My parents are expecting me to send them my pictures wearing a matriculation gown,” she said.
In her words, she gives thanks to the almighty for giving her the privilege to be among the students of UDUS and to be opportuned to study agriculture as a course.
“Though, studying agriculture here in UDUS is not an easy task.”
