Tijani Ahmad

Ahmad Tijani popularly known as Insight, has clinched the top prize in the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Logo Trademark Radio competition.

Ahmad is a 200 level student from the department of Computer Science at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

It can be recalled that The News Digest had earlier reported that the UDUS management had on Tuesday, 20 June, invited competent graphics designers to participate in the competition which aims at creating and designing the best logo for her campus frequency modulation 98.7.

Featuring three forms of categories, N100,000 will be given to the best three logos selected, where the winner will be given N50,000, N30,000 to the first runner up and N20,000 to the second runner up.

While speaking with The News Digest Press, Ahmad, narrated how things took a different turn just at the last hour of the submission.

“An hour before the submission, I was very frightened. It was just like watching horror movies having ominous characters which are beyond the strength of children to watch alone at night,” he recounted.

Numbering about hundred entries, Ahmad came with the 70th entry which awoke fears in him of which made him almost lose hope at the initial stage.

Rejoicing over his win, Ahmad noted that being afraid of things one is best at is the greatest enemy of adventure.

In his words: “Challenges are what make a man but overcoming them make life interesting to man. To be candid I lost confidence in myself and the competence in me faded off in a jiffy.”

He affirmed that he couldn’t summon the courage to strengthen up the courage initially but just hoped it would work out fine.

“One thing I can see I do differently is that, when I was about to make the logo, I decided to write the word UDUS in Arabic. And when I consulted a friend, he told me my opponents probably wouldn’t have thought about that. And yes! None of them had that unique trait.”

“When the world seems like you are not worthy of being who you are, show them what you have differently,” he added.
