The English and Literary Studies Students Association(ELSSA), Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto Chapter has called on interested students in the department and others to its first audition programme.
The programme, according to a flier released by the Drama Committee of the association, will be held on Wednesday, 2nd August at the School Convocation Theatre by 10:00am.
The event is aimed at choosing characters for the proposed drama under the auspices of the association.
While speaking with the News Digest Press, the President of the association, Ibrahim Mubarak, a 400-level of English Language expressed that the drama is targeted at spotlighting the professionalism of the department.
“Acting drama is one of the features that best define our department (ELSSA), it is time we showcase our talents and professionalism to all UDUS environments.”
“It is going to be challenging and competitive as many students would be opted out after the audition.”
“The Drama itself is going to be one of its kind in UDUS,” he added.
