“In 2022, when I represented UDUS at ANUDC 9th Edition, I was unable to make it to the final stage. This has strengthened me that I must be able to kick the best position in this edition,” he said.
Abdulbasit noted that 10 students from different universities made it to the final stage.
“I bagged the overall third best position of the public speaking category,” adding that”UDUS is the only Northern university that performs excellently and makes it to the final stage in public speaking.”
Abdulbasit, while speaking on how to strengthen and build the students for oratory competition, said that public speaking and debate clubs should be paid attention to in UDUS.
“We need the school management to invent public speaking and debate because UDUS students are consistent, they need support from school management, every participant from different universities were given medals because they invest wholly in the tournament,” he advised.
He also added that: “Compared to last year’s competition, UDUS representatives performed excellently in this edition.”
Other Students who represented UDUS at the debate category are: Bunamin Balogun, Islamiyyah Oluwabukola Issa, Yusuf Aboki and Faruq Olarenwaju. The team made it to the semi-final stage.
