The Italian international Marco Verratti has left Paris Saint Germain (PSG), after it was revealed that he was out of the plan of the Pasarian new coach Sergio Luis Enrique, despite a long term contract the midfielder signed in last December with the French giants that will expire until 2026.
The PSG playmaker has been a major topic in the transfer market with Liverpool and Atletico Madrid link after the 30-years-old midfielder was excluded from the French champions first squad. However, the Qatari side Al-Arabi has concluded the move of the 1992 born central midfielder with a transfer deal of £45 million.
This was disclosed on 10 September 2023 in an official Twitter handle managed by the influential transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
“Marco Verratti to Al Arabi, here we go! Verbal agreement finally sealed with the Italian midfielder who’s set to sign on a permanent deal with Qatari club, Al Arabi. Understood that Verratti will travel to Doha in the next 24 hours. PSG agreed on €45m fee 10 days ago, it’s done.”
The 55-cap Italy international who is ready to end his 11-years contract with PSG is envisioned to be a good material for the Qatari side, after he reunites with his former teammates Raphinha Alcantara and Abdou Diallo.
How Verratti Became Ligue 1 top Player
The top-notch midfielder joined PSG in 2012 with a £12 million deal from the second division side Pescara to become the most decorated player in France. Throughout his career with the French giant, he registered 416 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals and 61 assists along the way.
Verratti won a whopping number of 30 trophies with PSG, became the number one player with highest titles in the history of French football. He lifted nine out of ten league titles with the club, nine Trophee des Champions, six Coupe Nationale and six Coupe de La Ligue crowns. Hence, the PSG superstar became a top figure that France football has never seen.
