Contrary to the saying that social media has done more harm than good to the world, the dominance of space is fueled by people’s impulse to communicate and by advances in digital technology.

Presently, social media is part of the courses of death in Africa. Suicide is the second-leading cause of death among people aged ten to twenty-four and the rates have tripled among girls and youths between the ages of 10 and 14. Suicide rates are high especially in African and African American children under 13. The rates of suicide in these groups correlate with the persist rise in social media use.

As a global tool which has inflamed progression and navigates regression to the world, social media has gained widespread use in the contemporary era of digital connectedness, transformed perspective in every aspect of life; the cultural and societal phenomena

It has developed into potent instruments that have democratized information distribution, stoked social and political movements, and altered the nature of business and marketing. The effect navigated through social media platforms surpassed the flourish potentiality it converged which troll a mental and physical transformation in everyday

However, the nemesis reinforces immorality and dissary among people among which are depression, anxiety, psychological disorder and cyberbullying when expected results are not actualized.

No doubt, social media is a savior but people choose its negative aspects. Preference to the use of the media is the simplest way it can be.

However, the danger has surpassed the benefits accrued from the global phenomena. As though Social media has done harm as much as is important pertinent, the sluggishness of children can be triggered by their not exposure to the social life. Social media addiction has been shown to cause a significant decline in academic achievement.

This can be caused by the prioritization of social media over schoolwork as well as a secondary impact of sleep deprivation. In fact, the menace social life navigates to people has reinforced a lot of disarray and disruption than its merits. Only the cunning user uses it to his disadvantage.

Therefore, social media has done enough harm to our lives to wake up and stand still.
