The Sokoto State University(SSU) will battle with Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto(UDUS) in a debate competition scheduled to be held on 5th November.
The competition, falling as part of the activities of the The News Digest Press Festival, will take place at MH2 Lecture Hall, UDUS Main Campus.
The topic of the debate is: The Antidote of 21st Century: Skill or Degree? And each institution will be represented by three speakers.
The two institutions are expected to prepare for both sides(skill and degree). While on the day of the program, a school will now adopt a side to argue for. The mode of choosing a side will be prescribed by the moderator of the program.
Why this topic?
Over the years, there have been myriads of opinions pointing either a ‘skill’ or ‘degree’ as the most effective antidote of the 21st century.
Both the two tools are beneficial, however, some people would still claim the preponderance of one over the other. One of such arguments is what’s explored in Professor Issa Pantami’s book titled ‘Skills Rather than Degree.’
You cannot miss out on this event.
