Muheeb Moshood Clinches Double Victories at NACJ Day, Secures Two Awards

In a commendable achievement, Muheeb Moshood, a 200-level Law student at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has secured recognition by winning both the Male Campus Journalist and Feature Writer of the Year awards for the 2022/2023 academic session.

This announcement was made during the Annual Symposium of the National Association of Campus Journalists (NACJ), UDUS tagged “Dinner and Award Night,” held on Saturday, December 9th, at the IBB Center on the main campus.

NACJ is the mother body of all the five campus press outlets on the soil of Danfodiyo varsity: The News Digest, Pen Press, Vanguard, Gamji, and Inter-Watch press board.

Muheeb who won the campus journalist of the year award, doubled as the feature writer journalist of the year at NACJ, is also the winner of campus reporter of the year at the 2023 Digest festival.

In an interview with Muheeb, he attributed his achievements to his unwavering commitment to journalism—expressing his belief that these awards are the results of his dedicated effort.

In his words, he stressed that Journalism as a profession is what he desires most because it is a field to effects changes and makes an impact within a community.

“I dedicated my commitment to the field by producing works consistently with the aim that one day I will emerge from these feats,” he said.

Muheeb asserted that to emerge an award at NACJ level among the bold writers from various five Press boards is not an easy task. “It’s a great privilege for me to emerge as the winner of these two prominent categories, Alhamdulillah, all praise belongs to Allah.”

He appreciated the efforts of his editors for the great support and mentorship and also advised his fellow campus reporters to keep writing consistently.

He added “On this note, I will love to appreciate the Almighty Allah, my family, wishers. Finally, I wouldn’t have achieved these, if not for the support of my amiable three editors who relentlessly uplift me with all their might. In the person of Shereefdeen Ahmad, Abdullateef Abdullahi, and Hussain Wahab.”
