Abdullateef Abdullahi reports
Jabir Jibreel, a final year student of Education Biology hailing from Gusau local government, Zamfara state, was confirmed dead on Saturday, 24 February 2024, following a fatal motorcycle accident.
According to eyewitness accounts provided by Jabir’s close friend, Muslim Saidu, the tragic incident occurred as Jabir was en route from Gusau to Damba.
“Despite exhibiting no signs of illness or distress earlier in the day, fate dealt a cruel blow, snatching him away unexpectedly.” lamented Muslim.
Expressing shock and disbelief, Aishat Musa, a fellow 400-level Education Biology student and coursemate of the departed, conveyed her grief through the departmental WhatsApp platform, articulating the collective sentiment of hoping to graduate together unscathed by the specter of death or illness.
“ I still don’t believe my eyes. We are all praying and hoping we all graduate together without death, sickness or any sad news but Allah knows best.”
Similarly, Faith Ibitokun, another coursemate, struggled to come to terms with the heartbreaking news on the departmental WhatsApp platform, extending heartfelt condolences to Jabir’s family, friends, and classmates.
“This is hard to bear. It’s indeed sad news to us all. My sincere condolence to his entire family, friends, loved ones, and our coursemates. May God grant us all the grace and fortitude to bear his loss.”
In response to the tragedy, Aisha Ahmad, a graduate of UDUS from Gusau, Zamfara state, announced the scheduled Janaza (funeral prayer) for Jabir, set to take place this morning, Sunday, February 25th, at Sabon Gari Takin Ruwa, Nawairudeen Mosque, commencing at 9:00 a.m.
May his soul find eternal peace and solace. Ameen.
