The University Sustainable Development Goals, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, is set to hold a physical live session program.
According to the flier, the program is scheduled to hold on the 27th of April, 2024, at the school Convocation Theatre, where the physical meet-up will feature a topic titled “Empowering our Campus: A Clean Up for SDG 6: Clean Water Sanitation.”
While speaking with the News Digest Press, about the mission of the Union, Umar Faruq Amori, a 400-Level Biochemistry student and the Community Head of the Union said “the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have long been a foundation for various global initiatives.
“In line with this, the University Sustainable Development Goals Club is contributing to the advancement of the SDGs through advocacy”, Amori continued.
He identified environmental pollution as a menace affecting Danfodiyo community, and the need to raise an awareness to fight the problem.
“we aim to raise awareness and encourage collective action through our physical session, which will address critical questions such as the significance of SDG 6, the importance of individual action, and culminate in a call to action.”
Speaking further, he implored the school community to attend the live session, inviting every students to join the cleanup activities while embodying the spirit of every young person’s responsibility to shape the future of our planet.
“By the end of the session, we hope to inspire attendees to become ambassadors for the global youth community, driving towards a better and safer environment. We extend an invitation to all university youths to join this movement.”
