CLC–UDUS Sets to Organise  Client Interview, Counseling Skills For Law Students

The Caliphate Law Clinic, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (CLC-UDUS), has invited all clinicians and Law students to participate in the upcoming client interview and counseling skills in honor of professor M.D. Mahmud.

According to a flier released by the Clinic, the registration for the competition will span from Tuesday 24th and to Monday 29th, April, 2024. 

As contained, each participant is obliged to form a two-member team, after paying N1,000 to purchase a registration form.

The competition is  scheduled to commence from Friday, 3rd to Saturday, 4th of May, as the competition will concentrate only on Law of Contracts and Constitutional Law.

Also, prizing-giving will be awarded to the winner, 1st runner-up, best counsel while certificates are be awarded to every participant.

While speaking with The News Digest Press, Sheu Shamsudeen Ahmed, a 500-Level Law student and the Clinic Head emphasizes that the program is to develop  essential communication/problem solving skills while building confidence and professionalism among the Law Students.

“The purpose of this program is to allow prospective lawyers to put into learning and practice the required skills they’ll need in the course of interview with their clients to ensure they get the best information from their clients.”

Ahmed further disclosed that the program will afford them an opportunity to select the best counsels who will be representing the Caliphate Law Clinic at the National Client Interview and Counselling Skills Competition held annually by the Network of University Legal Aid Institutions (NULAI-Nigeria)
