The Fire Safety Club, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (FSC-UDUS), has set to hold their annual congress for the 2023/2024 academic session.
According to the flier released, the program will take place on the 27th April, 2024, starting from 4:30pm at the school convocation theatre.
As contained, the congress will revolve around the theme “Fire Safety Sanitization and Launching of Fire Vest and Kits.”
While speaking with The News Digest Press, Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman Adebanjo, a 500-Level Law student said “our aim is to help firefighters and the school management in prevention and mitigation of fire outbreaks and other emergencies that may occur around the campus.”
Speaking further, Mr Adebanjo identified the gross outcome of fire outbreaks as a pandemic that pose serious threat to human lives and properties. Hence, he expressed the needs to enlighten students on how to prevent it.
“By promoting fire safety awareness and providing individuals with fire vests and kits, we aim to empower people to take proactive measures to prevent fire outbreaks. And to be better prepared to respond effectively in case of an emergency.”
