Is it because I don’t engage in “Morocco”, or perhaps because I’m too ugly to attract a campus lover? I’ve witnessed, but never experienced, the humiliation of two lovebirds making out under the canopy of campus trees, only to be embarrassed when security chases them away.
Don’t these lovers ever get tired? After a hectic day of lectures, when every student is expected to be resting in the hostel or studying in a night class, you’ll instead find them at every corner near the girls’ hostel, faking love. Imagine grown-ups, future leaders, and the would-be heads of the house, engaging in campus fake love.
But the funniest part has to be the security guards. Around 10 PM, they descend, scattering the lies the lovebirds have been whispering to each other. They scatter them with flashlights; and disrupt the clandestine romance by shining light on them. Well done to our security guards, at least the single Pringles Won’t be over-suffocated in their rooms.
But guys, I’ve always wondered, do these security guards realize they’re breaking hearts when they chase the lovers away? Some unlucky ones even get dragged to the security unit, forced to write down their details for going beyond the preliminary stage of “Morocco” to elementary and then to the rudimentary stage! You might wonder what these stages imply because you are a novice or perhaps you have never been chased from DV hostel, or FBI or should I say Zamfara where ladies oppress each other with their “Morocco ” partners. But I believe the “ Morocco” lords must have understood already, especially those who live in the Kwankwasia hostel.
Well, ” nagode” to our security guards. I can partially say they don’t care, though. But I suspect that they are on the side of those who don’t partake in night romance.
So, to my fellow campus lovers, should I remind you or should I just focus on my front? As you are resuming school to pursue both your academic degree and a “Morocco degree,” from your moonlight rendezvous, keep in mind that the flashlights are always charged, and the security guards are ready to pounce.
