INSIDE LAW VILLAGE: IPLC–UDUS Announces New Executives as Abdulrahman Ojo Emerges President

The Intellectual Property Law Club, Usumanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (IPLC-UDUSOK) has announced the new executives who will serve a one-section tenure.

It can be recalled that the club had earlier called for applications from interested students, following which shortlisted candidates were invited for interviews.

In the recent announcement, Abdulrahman Ibrahim Ojo, a 400-level law student, emerged as the new IPLC president, while Abdul Rahman Abdulhakeem was appointed as Vice President. Other appointed officials include Akorede Saoban as General Secretary, Olagunju Abdulkabir as Director of Legal Research, and Olayiwola Ridwan Adetunji as Director of Program.

Ajíbádé Naimot will serve as Director of Finance, with Gambari Abubakar Sidiq as Assistant Director of Programs. Abdulrasaq Muheeb Login was appointed as Assistant General Secretary, while Abdulhameed Abdullah Abiodun took on the role of Director of Media and Publicity. Awwal Wadud Olamilekan has been named the new Assistant Director of Media and Publicity.

While speaking with the News Digest Press, Abdulrahman assures members that he would advocate for IP awareness on the campus and beyond. He added that all areas of the Intellectual Property Law would be looked up throughout his administration.

When asked about his top three goals for the club, he said, “My top 3 goals are hosting engaging events, seminars, and workshops on cutting-edge IP topics, building a network of professionals, academics, and students to share knowledge and best practices, and supporting members in developing their skills and careers in IP law.”

The Newly appointed General Secretary of the Club, Akorede Saobam, expressed excitement about his new role, stating, “I feel elated about the new position and take it as an opportunity to serve another community of students.”

Also, he noted his primary responsibility as building a strong foundation for the club in collaboration with the president and other executive members.

Speaking further, he emphasized the importance of effective communication with the student body through media channels and notice boards to let them understand how their administration is being run.
