Raheem Anifa reports,

Faculty of education

One of the lecturers of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Dr A.A Yunusa from the Faculty of Education, Curriculum Department, has advised students to prioritise on being a scientist irrespective of their discipline.

This was disclosed on Saturday, 7th September, 2024, during EDU 303 lecture, held at the ETF 3 Lecture Hall.

In his statement, he mentioned that “artificial intelligence is taking over the world and replacing people in field workshops, thereby costing people their jobs.”

The lecturer further identified children born to a technological era. He said: “Anyone that was born after 1982 is a technological age child. Artificial Intelligence (AI) can perform at once a work that will be done by four people put together.”

“Technological age children are those who do not spend hours in the library looking for books to read, instead they can sit in the toilet and get whatever they want on the internet,” he added.

However, while appreciating the significance of AI, Dr Yunusa noted that the advanced technological instrument can never replace human beings permanently.

“Everyone should be a scientist regardless of their field because artificial intelligence is taking over the world,” the lecturer reiterated.
