The Students’ Union Government of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has set
to organize workout sessions.
The sessions, in partnership with the UDUS Fitness Team and the Director of Sports, will be held on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the first semester break.
According to a memo released on Sunday, 27th August through the Office of SU Sports Director, Muftau Ibrahim Ayansola, the sessions will take place at the UDUS Sport Complex from 7:00am to 10:00 am.
Speaking with the News Digest Press, the SU Sports Director, Muftau Ibrahim Ayansola said that the event is aimed at strengthening love and unity, adding that it also has medical benefits.
“The aim is to foster love and unity among the students and now that most of us on the campus will be fighting boredom and loneliness, we want to use that gathering as a means to suppress that.”
“Medically, you know it is good to stay fit because it is a way of getting students fitter for next semester. Personally, I want the students who went home to talk of the change in our campus sports, to have more interested athletes ahead of Fodio Games’ Week on Next Semester,” he added.
