Hult Prize Appoints UDUS Student as Campus Director

A 300-level law student of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Akinsola Abdulganiyu Alao, has been appointed as the new Hult Prize campus director for 2024.

His appointment, according to a congratulatory mail received by Abdulganiu on Monday, 21st August, involves facilitating training and inspiring youth how to overcome world’s biggest challenges both within the Danfodiyo campus and beyond.

“As a Hult Prize Campus Director, you would be at the forefront of driving positive change on your campus and beyond by inspiring and supporting your classmates to tackle some of the world’s biggest issues,” the mail reads in part.

“Our team is super excited to be working with you in the next couple of months to educate, train and inspire youth from your university, community and beyond…”

Hult Prize is the world’s largest student social entrepreneurship competition. Run in partnership with the United Nations, student teams from universities from across the world compete to solve a pressing social issue by developing a scalable, sustainable social enterprise.

Speaking with the News Digest Press, the new campus director, Abdulganiyu Alao expressed his gratitude and spell out ways possible strategies in achieving his goal.

“For me to succeed as a Campus Director for the Hult Prize, effective leadership, organization, and collaboration are essential. Also, understand the Hult Prize’s mission, goals, and competition format,”he said.

“Recruit a passionate student team with defined roles. Further plan and organize competition events, secure resources, and promote participation, engage the campus community through outreach and partnerships and more.”

He added that the frameworks would
enable him to be successful in fulfillment of the Campus Director role and contribute to Hult Prize’s mission of driving social change through entrepreneurship
