The English and Literary Studies Students’ Association (ELSSA), Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto Chapter, is set to hold an engaging debate competition.
The programme, according to a flyer released by the debate committee, is scheduled to coincide with the ELSSA Magazine Launching Day, where the participants will be speaking on the topic themed “English is the best thing that has ever happened to Nigerian and Nigeria.”
Speaking with the News Digest Press, the Chairperson of the committee, Saka Theresa Doobee, and a 400-level student from the Department of English Language, expressed that the event aims to provide a platform for students to enhance their public speaking skills and engage in discussions about the English Language, exploring both its positive and negative facets.
“ This opportunity is open to all students of English Language and Literature in English, ranging from 100-level to 300-level, with 400-level students being the only exception,” she said.
