UDUS Secures N100 Million Grant for Cutting-Edge Laboratory Upgrade

Usmanu  Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has received a substantial grant of N100 million dedicated to the enhancement of its laboratory facilities.

This announcement—made via the University official handle on October 20, 2023, signifies a significant stride towards fostering closer ties between academia and the industrial sector.

The grant, originating from the National Office For Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) industry research laboratory upgrade project fund, is courtesy of PZ Cussons Nigeria PLC.

The primary objective of this grant is to bolster research and development endeavors, thereby narrowing the gap between academic institutions and the industrial landscape.

In addition to Usmanu Danfodiyo University, several other prestigious universities have been honored with this award. Among the notable recipients are the University of Port Harcourt, the University of Jos, the Federal University of Technology Akure, and the Michael Okpara University of Technology in Abia State.

Reacting to this noteworthy development, the Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Prof. L. Bilbis, expressed his contentment with the progress achieved in fostering collaboration between academia and the industrial sector.

“ We promise to ensure judicious utilization to ensure impactful research output,” he noted.
