DIGEST Reporter Wins Campus Journalist of the Week

The National Asscociation of Campus Journaliats, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto Chapter, has on Wednesday unveiled the top four entries for NACJ of the week.

 

Shereefdeen Sawe won with 24 points from News Digest, followed by Abdulrasheed Akere with 21 points from PEN PRESS , Ayoade Zariat with 19 point from PEN PRESS and Nuhu Hussein with 15 points from Vanguard Press

 

Speaking the the NEWS DIGEST PRESS, Shreefdeen Ahmad expressed his feelings towards the development by the NACJ. “I’m really excited for this motivational recognition by the National Association of Campus Journalists, UDUS chapter. This is would keep us [campus journalists] moving in doing the great work we are known for on UDUS campus,” he said.

According to NACJ, Ahmad Shereefdeen Sawe is a passionate campus journalist and 200-level law student at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. He is a writer and reporter with The News Digest Press, UDUS and a Writing Fellow at the Liberalist Centre’s Journalism for Liberty Fellowship.

Shereefdeen is a winner of Digest Journalist of the Year and NACJ Sports Writer of the Year awards in 2021. He is also a finalist in two categories (Investigative Reporter and Sport Writer) at the 2022 Campus Journalism Awards (CJA) organized by Youth Digest.

His works have been published on different national dailies and magazines, including The Nation, Daily Trust, HumAnge media , Campus Reporter, Ripples Nigeria, and The Liberalist among others.
