The Nigerian Universities Education Students’ Association (NUESA), Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) chapter has nominated Adamu Lawal Faskari as its new President.
Adamu is a 300-Level student of education English from the department of Educational Foundations, Faculty of Education and Extension Services (FEES).
According to a memo released and signed by the screening committee, Adamu was nominated into the office of NUESA President due to having the highest number of points among other contestants during the screening.
“The NUESA-FEES screening committee hereby declares Adamu Lawal of the department of Educational Foundations as duly nominated into the office of the President of the union having scored the highest points during screening held between 2nd to 3rd December, 2023 at PG board room,” the memo read.
While speaking with The News Digest Press, Adamu Lawal Faskari asserted that he did not expect to be nominated as the President of his Faculty despite battling with opponents who are more competents like him.
“The only thing that always motivates me and also makes me think that I can win is my fellow friends and colleagues from various departments,” he said.
During the screening exercise, Adamu recounted that he was interviewed by eight lecturers from different fields in the Faculty. “One thing I will never forget is that during the screening when about eight lecturers from different fields interviewed me, I felt like I couldn’t make it, but actually, that was an unforgettable experience.”
Adamu assured the students of the Faculty that his administration will take students’ interest as his first priority for unity and progress.
He further advised aspiring candidates to “always be prepared to serve at all times,” emphasizing that leadership requires dedication and unwavering commitment to the people one leads.
