Following the directive issued by the federal government, the management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto has declared Monday 25th and Tuesday, 26th December as public holidays in celebration of Christmas. Additionally, Monday, January 4th, 2024 as a public holiday to mark New Year.
The announcement, as contained in a circular released and signed by the Public Relations Officer, I.M Yauri, specified that staff engaged in shift duty, emergency, or essential services in the various units are exempted and expected to report to duty as usual.
As highlighted, staff members are urged to power down all office appliances during the holidays and are expected to resume their work on Wednesday, 27th December, and Tuesday, 2nd January.
The circular reads in part: “Staffs on shift duty, emergency or essential services in the various units are exempted and will report for duty as usual. Work resumes Wednesday 27th December 2023, and Tuesday 2nd January 2024.
“In view of the above, all offices will remain closed during the holiday. Please remember to switch off all electrical appliances in your offices during the periods The University Authority wishes you a happy and peaceful celebration.”
