The Federation of Oyo State Student Union (FOSSU), Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, under the leadership of Comrade Abdulmaleeq Jimoh, has successfully hosted its Ramadan Iftar dinner on April 4, 2024.
Held at Lecture Hall A133, the event brought together a large number of FOSSU members from Oyo State, including students from Saki, Oyo town, Igboho, Ibadan, and Kishi.
The program nurtured a sense of unity and solidarity, bringing together students, invited guests, and well-wishers from various student associations for the Iftar dinner.
While speaking with The News Digest Press, Abdulmalik Jimoh, a 400 Linguistic student and the FOSSU president, expressed his joy over the event’s success. “We are thrilled to have organized this Iftar dinner and we are grateful to Allah for making it a reality,” he said.
Expressing further, he noted that the event serves as a timely reminder of the importance of the holy month of Ramadan.
He said, “ We organized this Iftar to seek blessings during this sacred time and pray to Allah to grant us the rewards we strive for.”
Also, Abdul Samir, a 400-level law student, who was also present at the dinner, appreciated the organizer of the event, in his words, he said, “Well, they tried because it isn’t anywhere easy in the country at the moment. ”
