Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has been crowned champions of the French league, after AS Monaco suffered a 3-2 defeat to Lyon on Sunday.
Recall that the Parisians struggled to secure a 3-3 draw as Le Havre pegged the French giant during a title deciding match at Parc Des Princes stadium on Saturday.
However, Monaco’s defeat has handled a 12-time record extending Ligue 1 title to the French Champions, after Luis Enrique’s team sit at the top of the table with 12 points clear ahead of Monaco, having three matches remaining.
After their encounter against Le Havre on Saturday, the Spanish coach Luis Enrique has earlier made a bold claim that his side “have won the league without any doubt” as the Parisians have 12 points ahead Monaco.
During the pace of 12 seasons, PSG have able to win 10 out of 12 French league competition they participated in. A record which proved that the takeover of the Qatari in 2011 has completely changed and made the team a face of French football.
Amidst celebration of the new glory, Luis Enrique’s PSG are preparing for the UEFA Champions League clash against the German side Dortmund in the semifinals.
