Following the NEWS DIGEST’s article written on July 7, 2021 titled “Why We Need Water Factory and Bakery in UDUS”, the Caretaker Committee of Usmanu Danfodiyo University has started producing pure water and said bakery is under processing.

In the article, a reporter at the News Digest Press, Hussain Wahab, had highlighted the benefits of having these two factories in the university.
“We realise that students survive most on the water under this (hot) weather and with the hike in the cost of the sachet water, we decided to give it a trial,” the CTC chairman, Muhammad Umar, said in an interview with Pen Press.
“As part of our achievements, we have produced two thousand (2,000) bags, and right from today, we have started distributing them to all the SU shops, starting from the main campus to the city campus and also UDUTH, for students to purchase one at the rate of five naira (N5) only.”
He also said his administration is looking forward to producing “UDUS BREAD”.
“We are trying to partner with one bakery in the town to be producing ‘UDUS BREAD’ for students to buy at affordable prices,” he said.
