UDUS Aspirants Express Joy Over Admission, Share Survival Stories

As the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto released her admission, many newly admitted students couldn’t hide such an enchantment that bewitched them. Not like many, Ibrahim’s case is different. Two years ago, Ibrahim opted to study Radiography in UDUS. However, while waiting for admission for more than a year with neither tunes nor drumming from the UDUS/CAPs, Ibrahim lost interest in UDUS, gave up and wrote another JAMB where he applied to study Pharmacy in Bayero University Kano [BUK].

“I was offline when I was told the admission had been released and was not moved at all, already,we are drained mentally,” he said.

Recall that the News Digest Press had previously reported how ‘UDUS aspirants Lament Over Delay in Admission Exercise.’ And while conversing with the Admission Officer, Mallam Shehu Abubakar through telephone, had told our correspondent that he was not in the position to talk about the admission exercise.

Fortunately, not more than a week after the report, Ibrahim was given admission to study his choosing course in BUK, though would have loved been in 100-level studying Radiography, yet, he was happy and this prevented him from checking UDUS admission status not until recently when he realized that Usmanu Danfodiyo university, Sokoto (UDUS) has also doubled the admission to study the course of his choice.

Like a 7 years old Muslim child who sighted the moon for breakfast during the month of Ramadan, happiness shielded him while laughter encircled all over his face . “Alhamdulilahi, it came as a surprise though. Indeed, Nothing good comes easy. Alhamdulillah for everything, he commented.”

Dilemma Overturned; Happiness Supersedes 

Due to the tortoise admission process in UDUS caused by COVID-19 and ASUU, Ibrahim had previously cast out his mind from the admission but when the congratulatory message popped in his UDUS CAPs, like ‘Ato’ in the Dilemma of a ghost. He couldn’t help himself in dealing with the confusion that befriended him: whether to abandon UDUS for Bayero or otherwise.

“I’m in a state of confusion now. Should I go for a doctor of pharmacy in BUK or medical Radiography at UDUS,” he said in bewilderment.

Ibrahim however advised every aspirant who hasn’t been admitted to exercise patience and be prayerful, “I’m optimistic that admission will reach almost everyone soon.”

Abdulhameed Damusa, a 2021 UDUS aspirant from Niger State was delighted like a jackpot winner. This time, it’s on Saturday, 1st of April around 10:15 am, Damusa was shivering while checking his CAPs but the result was great as the admission news started his day. “I felt so happy, it wasn’t easy for us, we waited for this admission for more than 2 years before getting it. I almost gave up on school but now I am so happy.

“And to those who haven’t been offered admission yet, they shouldn’t give up, they should have faith in God,” he encouraged.

Mahmud Aminu Yandaki, an indigene of Sokoto State, While speaking with the News Digest press said that the procrastination is God’s plan: ” I didn’t even worry about the delay because I know everything has its time, and the time has come now,”
