MSSN–UDUS to Organize Weekly Qur’an Memorization Revision

The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS), is set to organise a weekly Quran memorization revision (MUSOOFAHA) for all Muslim students on campus.

According to the poster released by the MSSN, the program will run from 19th January to 6th April, 2025, and will take place at two locations. At Jubril Aminu Hostel, sessions will be held every Sunday from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM.

However, during the month of Ramadan, the venue will shift to Kwankwasiyyah Masjid, where the program will continue from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM on the 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, and 29th days of Ramadan.

Speaking with the News Digest Press, Sulaiman Ibrahim Binyusuf, the Ameer of the MSSN, articulated that the purpose of the program is to instil the heart of the Muslim with the Quran.

“We are organizing this Programme in order to keep on preserving the Qur’an in the heart of the Muslim Ummah and also as an encouragement,” he said. “It was aimed to create a better school atmosphere and well discipline Muslim students because the Qur’an is a guide.”

He also added that one of the major keys to succeed in life is holding the Qur’an as a total guidance, and the knowledge of the it is the best knowledge ever.

Hashim Yusuf Zakariyah, who serves as one of the Imams of Jubril Aminu Masjid, also stated that the purpose of the program is to streamline the Quranic memorization and give the participants the opportunity to revise the Quran.

“This very weekly Quran Memorization Revision is to facilitate strong memorization of the Quran and invite people to the beauty of the Qur’an.

“Those who attend will enjoy benefits and rewards to a very large extent, as it is not restricted to only memorizers. It also motivates people to recite and memorize the Quran. That the benefit can’t be exhausted,” he said.
