Professor Lawal Bilbiss, the Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, has given an insightful notion on the significance of embracing entrepreneurship in school curriculum at the 2024 combined Convocation, held on 19th April, 2024.
The event, themed “Award of Certificates, Diplomas, and Bachelor’s Degrees,” took place at the school’s convocation theatre, graced by the presence of the Deans of faculties, Graduands, and students.
In his speech, the vice chancellor praised the achievement of all the Graduands, mentioning their CGPA, names and department of each of the best Graduating students within the four sessions consecutively.
“For the 2018/2019 session: Adeniyi Mercy-ojo from the faculty of Agriculture graduated with a CGPA of 4.78. For 2019/2020 Session: Ismaila Abdulateef from Forestry graduated with a CGPA of 4.72. In
2020/2021 Session: Salaudeen Sadiq from Accounting graduated with a CGPA of 4.73. For 2022/2023 Session: Abdulrahman Akanbi from Islamic Studies graduated with a CGPA of 4.96.”
Speaking, he noted the effort and resilience of the school management in uplifting entrepreneurship, an independent field in all areas of study.
He explained by using the testament of the fast dominance of entrepreneurship in the labor market.
“The university is embracing a paradigm shift toward entrepreneurship development across all discipline embedded within our curriculum,”
He expressed further the motive behind the inculcation which he said was to integrate them with strong competency and technique in conquering scorns in the world outside.
“We aim to equip our students with essential skills, mind-set, and resources to navigate and thrive in today’s dynamic world by integrating accomplishment,” he said.
