The News Digest Press, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, has once again won the best press board making it three times on a row. Not only that, four of her members won awards in different categories in the just concluded National Association Of Campus Journalists Symposium.
However, it is not surprising because to whom much is given much is expected. Digest Press does play a great role in carrying all the students updated on what is happening within and outside the campus. The board serves as a indefatigable speaker that voices out the voices of thousands of students and always be primus inter pares in anything that will elevate the status of the school.
The Digest members who shine at the event include:
1. Abdulwasiu Olokooba _campus journalist of the year. He’s an antepenultimate law student.
2. Shereefdeen Sawe, a 100 level law student, bagged sport journalist of the year.
3. Bashir Turawa, a 400 level student of Literature-in-English, emerged the best editor.
4.Muhyideen Kolawole, a 400-level from MELL, was crowned NACJ Man of the year.
And the mother of all, award of the best press of the year, made it five.
