Despite ‘Poor Chemistry Background’ , Student Clinches First Class in UDUS’ Applied Chem. Dept.

Despite a very poor background in chemistry, twenty-four years old former coordinator for the University Christian Chapel; Adebisi Quazim Enoch has clinched a First Class honour degree in Applied Chemistry from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

Enoch, who hails from Offa, Offa local government area of Kwara state graduated with 4.63 CGPA in the department of Applied Chemistry,becoming the best graduating student of the department for 2017/18 set and the first UCC coordinator to graduate with First Class honour degree since inception of the chapel in 2008.

Speaking with NEWSDIGEST, Enoch described his secondary school days as poor and unsolid one being a science students as he only had opportunity of entering laboratory for chemistry practicals, two times in 3 years.

” I didn’t really have a solid secondary school background. And of course, my school wasn’t really the best in town. Not even a standard Laboratory. I had just about two Lab. practicals on chemistry in 3years” – he recalled.

Responding to questions from our correspondent, Enoch further explained how he later decided to study Applied Chemistry against his initial preferred course after several attempts failed.

He said : ” Initially ,My preferred course was Medical lab. Science. But after 4 years of seeking admission . I later resolved to let anything just do. But I saw it as a challenge and flew into it headlong”

When asked of the challenges he faced while on campus, and how he was able to scale through, he revealed how dedication, prayer and self-motivation aided his success .

” Though ,not really challenges having one’s time occupied.Atimes, I had long meetings, mostly impromptu from the school authorities, university staff and members. Sometimes till when I’m about to go in for an exam. But in academic general term, I had to trust God to help me scale through.After all, you can’t work for God and He won’t stand for you ” – narrated, Enoch

“I did the Motivation myself.And the Hope of impacting this generation kept me going.As well, I’m not a nocturnal being, of course I hate that popular ‘TDB’. No exam is worth my precious night time”- he added
